The Hex Hall Series-

"A house divided against itself cannot stand"- ABRAHAM LINCOLN

This trilogy has giving a opportunity for readers to understand that even “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.” Life can never be perfect, as for the main character struggles to survive, and with a heart so stubborn as hers, she needs to find another way, combine her once friend-but-now-enemies, to conquered difficulties, cast aside any feelings for her kind, and kill.

As for me, this trilogy had made my day. Begging my dad on my knees to buy the 2 and 3 book, I felt a wave of guilt and sadness. The first book was great, and perfect. The second book was okay, with more of an action going on. The third was just depressing, WHY does Cal HAVE to die?. His like the most awesome character in the book besides Archer (Daniel). When Cal fell into the "dark demon-creating blahblah pit", I was like "come on kid, you can't die, not when you just save your betroth", and when Cal said to his betroth, which is the main character, while he was dying/tumbling through the pit "it's okay Sophie, it's okay" my heart broke! I just can't believe he died, I mean he can heal, and would do anything to save the world!

Lastly, I was satisfied that Sophie was screaming and crying whenever she dream nightmares of him after he died, but it was good that Cal finally found peace- well, he was the wild, nature, no-dying, boy. Finally, thank you Rachel Hawkin for writing such great books, I'm a big fan of yours, and I'm waiting for your next trilogy!!

The Weight Of Silence
" Deeply moving and exquisitely lyrical, this is a powerhouse of a debut novel."- NEW YORK TIMES

As this book stands alone in my bookshelf, I reached for it, feeling compassion and honesty, I began to read it- the book was a tense and profoundly emotional story of a parent's worst nightmare.
It happens quietly one August morning. As dawn's shimmering light drenches the humid Iowa air, two families awaken to find their little girls have gone missing in the night.

Calli Clark is sweet, gentle, who suffers mutism from series of severe depression and threatening problems, was gone and her often drunk father is nowhere to be found. Petra Gregory is Calli's best friend, her soul mate and her voice, is gone too. Desperate to find their children, the two families are tied by the question of what happened to their children, and the answer is trapped in the silence of unspoken family secrets.

This book cannot be described by words, so I will just simply say- as this book grabs the reader's attention, each character in the book, such as Calli, Petra, Petra's father- Martin, Calli's brother- Ben, Calli's mother- Antoni, and Antoni's ex-boyfriend- Louis as one of the policemen, talks about their past, relating to the presented events, both about intricate dynamics of families tales, and silences of secrets.

Jenna, was also a girl, who had been taken from her own house, was found weeks after laying on the ground broken and dead. Does this situation have anything to do with the case now? Had Calli's father kidnapped his own daughter and best friend? Was Petra kidnapper someone else? Who made Calli mute forever? Will Calli ever speak again? This book is a real page-turner,  leaving reader wanting for more.
